Furness Building Society Named as Barrow AFC Stadium Partner
Furness Building Society has been named Barrow AFC’s official stadium partner, strengthening a relationship built through many years of support for the club and its community.
The Holker Street stadium will be known as Furness Building Society Stadium through to 2028, as the building society signs on to support the club and local community for the next two years with the new deal.
Furness Building Society members have been able to show their support for Barrow AFC through the society’s Community Affinity Accounts for many years, with an annual donation made to the club based on the collective savings of account holders.
In the year Barrow AFC celebrates its 125th anniversary, Furness Building Society, formed in 1865, is expanding on this by investing in the club, the town and the local community.
Forming part of Furness’ new long-term commitment to reinvest 5% of its annual pre-tax profit back into its communities across Cumbria, the collaboration between the two Barrow staples will support local initiatives, deepen community engagement and reinforce a shared dedication to give back to the place their members and supporters call home.
Simon Broadley, Chief Executive of Furness Building Society, commented: “We’re proud to be Barrow AFC’s new stadium partner and support a club which has been at the heart of the Barrow community for 125 years. With mutual values and a shared commitment to our home town, we are building a strong, collaborative partnership that goes beyond traditional sponsorship. By combining our efforts, we look forward to supporting the local community, championing the club and creating a positive impact both on and off the pitch.”
Paul Hornby, Chairman of Barrow AFC, said: "We’re pleased to welcome Furness Building Society as our new stadium partner. As we celebrate our 125th anniversary, it seems fitting to collaborate with an organisation that also has a long-standing history in Barrow and is deeply invested in the future of our town. We look forward to working closely over the coming two years and achieving great things together that will deliver lasting benefits for our local community."
