Apprentice Mortgages

Your first home awaits!
We can help you onto the property ladder.

Helping you buy your first home

At the Furness, we understand how important it is for young people to have the chance to own their own home. That’s why we’ve updated our mortgage criteria to give apprentices in our Heartland communities the support they need to get on the property ladder.

How we can help

We’ve made our lending criteria more flexible to recognise the unique circumstances apprentices face. If you’re working as an apprentice in one of the following postcodes – LA, CA, PR and FY – you could now be eligible for a Furness mortgage sooner than you think.

We know that apprenticeships are vital for our region’s future, helping young people gain skills and careers close to home. By opening up mortgage options earlier, we’re making it easier for apprentices to put down roots where they live and work.

How we are helping Heartland apprentices:

•    You don’t need to have been in employment for 12-24 months, we’ll now consider applications after just three months.
•    You just need to have been with your current employer for at least three months.
•    We’ll also now accept up to 100% of overtime and bonus income, giving you more borrowing power.
