Furness Building Society’s Chief Executive, Chris Harrison has signed the contract which will enable a move for Furness’ Head Office premises from Duke Street, into Emlyn Hughes House on Abbey Road in Barrow.
The move is likely to take place in the first half of next year and the Furness has recently completed a tender process for the design and fit out of Emlyn Hughes House. This important piece of work has been awarded to TSK who are leading workplace specialists.
The move is a huge step forward for the organisation and one Chris Harrison believes is vital.
Chris told us “We have been looking to move our Head Office operations for some time now. The majority of the current building is no longer fit for purpose and we are increasingly having to put more money and resource into maintaining it.
We believe that by investing in a new, modern and open plan facility, our staff can concentrate on providing a first class service for our customers. We want our customer journey to be as smooth and efficient as we can make it and with the right leadership and behaviours we believe we can make this happen.
This is a massive step forward and shows that the Board of Directors is committed to moving forward and investing not only in the Furness’ future but also in our local community.”
The Barrow branch will continue to operate from its current location in Duke Street.
