Supporting apprentices in our Heartland

We’re committed to supporting first-time buyers across our Heartland. We’ve recently updated our criteria to make it easier for apprentices in LA, CA, PR and FY postcodes to access mortgage lending.

Supporting your Apprentice clients

There are some fantastic career opportunities for the younger generation here in Cumbria and South Lakes but a lack of high LTV mortgages can make it difficult for them to realise their dream of buying their first home. We're immensely proud to support our Heartland by offering a first time buyer product for properties in LA, CA , PR & FY postcodes.  Contact your BDM to discuss this with us.

Criteria enhancements include:

•    Minimum time in employment reduced from 12-24 months to 3 months
•    Minimum time with current employer reduced from 6 months to 3 months
•    Overtime/bonus income – we’ll now accept up to 100% in affordability assessments

We recognise that apprentices are a growing part of the local workforce, particularly with major employers in our region. These changes create real opportunities for brokers to help more first-time buyers get a foothold on the ladder, while allowing us to support our local communities.

Who is eligible?

•    Applicant must live and work in one of our core Heartland postcodes: LA, CA, PR, FY
