Solicitors Panel Application

Furness Building Society has a panel of solicitors who are approved to act in the provision of mortgage lending. If you’re not already an active member of the panel and you are looking to apply, the criteria and process for application is as follows:

The firm must be registered with the relevant Law Society and have approved persons in the following categories

• 2 SRA approved managers (England)
• 2 Scottish Partners (Scotland)
• 2 CLC Licence Holders (England)

If the Solicitors firm does not have at least 2 qualified persons we will not be able to approve the panel application and an alternative solicitor will have to be selected to facilitate the mortgage.

If you‘d like to join our panel of approved Solicitors and you meet the criteria above, please download and complete the application form. Please return the application form and supporting documents to us at brokerhub@furness-bs.co.uk.

Terms and Conditions of Panel Appointment

Please make sure you include the following documentation with your application form.

  • A copy of two Practising Certificates.
  • A copy of the Firms current professional Indemnity Insurance Certificate.
  • A current copy of the Firms CQS. If this certificate has recently expired please also forward a copy of an e-mail from the Law Society that they are in receipt of your renewal application and your expired certificate.
  • A copy of the Firms letter headed paper.
  • Signed and dated Application Form
  • If you are a Licensed Conveyancer, please supply evidence that you are registered with the Council of Licenced Conveyancers.
