What will you do when I contact you?

We’ll need to understand your current financial situation. A member of our friendly team will discuss your circumstances with you to find out why you’re having difficulties.

We’ll go through your income and expenditure and explore solutions that you can afford. These could include:

  • Arranging a mortgage payment concession - an affordable monthly amount over a set period of time that’s less than you’re currently paying.
  • Adjusting the terms of your mortgage - you’ll make interest-only payments on your mortgage for a short period of time, rather than capital gains.
  • Extending your mortgage term - reducing your monthly payments by spreading the cost of your mortgage over a longer term. However, this usually costs more in the long run.

The solution we recommend will be based on your individual circumstances and your ability to meet our terms of acceptance.

You can help us understand your situation now by completing our questionnaire.

We’re unable to provide advice or offer support regarding debts you may have elsewhere. If you would like further assistance with this, StepChange offers expert debt advice and free debt management support. You may also find MoneyHelper useful.
