COMMERCIAL FINANCE MANAGER - HEAD OFFICE

An exciting vacancy has arisen for the role of Commercial Finance Manager, reporting to  Head of Finance.

The main accountabilities of the role will include:-

  • The production of the Society’s 3 year corporate plan and regular forecasts including financial modelling, coordination of key stakeholders and presentations to senior management.
  • Recurring and ad-hoc analysis of actuals vs forecast/plan for the Executive and Board including improvement of management and planning information for business performance drivers.
  • Working collaboratively with the business to support retail lending and funding decisions and loan pricing as part of the Product Pricing Committee
  • Provide forecast/plan balance sheet and income drivers for Society’s annual ICAAP and ILAAP submissions including responsibility for stress scenario modelling.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Finance Management Team and will have strong self-management skills.  Listening to the voice of the customer and wider stakeholders, the post-holder will demonstrate a continual improvement in the Finance team’s service and effectiveness.

Ideally, candidates will possess retail banking/building society experience with a sound understanding of the UK financial services environment and the mortgage/retail savings market.

It is preferred that the successful candidate is a qualified accountant possessing strong financial modelling skills.  However, those candidates who possess the relevant experience will still be considered and if successful they will be required to undergo studies towards a relevant accountancy qualification.

Candidates will be highly motivated, possessing a “can-do” attitude coupled with excellent communication and presentation skills.  Strong problem solving ability and a natural flair for creativity and imagination are all good personal characteristics.  A professional commitment to high quality and a passion for learning new skills is also required. It is important the successful candidate is confident to make sound judgements based on their proven skills and experience and has the ability to act on their own initiative

The role may require additional hours outside the Society’s normal working hours subject to work volume
