£150 ‘leg up’ for Riding for the Disabled

6th July 2016

The Riding for the Disabled Furness Group has received a £150 ‘leg up’ from Furness Building Society to help with the purchase of a new lift to enable riders to mount more easily and safely.

The money is one of 150 x £150 payments being made this year by the Furness as a continuing celebration of the Society’s 150 years’ service to local communities.

The Furness RDA Group operates from the Seaview Riding School on Walney Island on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings during school term time.  Chair Judith Stitt commented: “Riding delivers huge benefits in terms of therapy, achievement and enjoyment to children and young people with disabilities.  The new lift will make it easier for more young people to enjoy this fulfilling experience.”
