FURNESS BUILDING SOCIETY COMMUNITY SUPPORT SCHEME

About the Scheme

Through our Community Support Scheme we provide financial assistance to a wide range of local organisations involved in improving quality of life in our branch and network area.  We pride ourselves on being a regional society working with and for the benefit of the local community and invite applications from community focused groups in need of financial help. Awards typically range from £50 - £500 within a budget specifically allocated for community support purposes. Applications for assistance are considered by our community support panel which meets monthly.

Community Support Scheme Policy

Our community support panel will only consider applications that benefit the local community and favour projects which:

•Work in partnership with organisations assisting

 The disadvantaged e.g. the young, the elderly,

 The disabled or the homeless

•Promote and encourage sporting activity

•Promote and encourage activity in the arts

•Support education and development

•Benefit our environment (e.g. conservation)

We will NOT normally sponsor:

•Party political activities

•Promotion of religious causes

•Commercial enterprises

All applications are considered by our community support panel. This ensures that applications are dealt with fairly and equally and results in an even distribution of support throughout the year. Applications are considered on the understanding that panel decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
