Furness Building Society Supports Rosemere Cancer Foundation

Furness Building Society recently presented Dennis Benson, Chairman of Rosemere Cancer Foundation, with a cheque for £13,100.72.

Customers can open a Rosemere Cancer Foundation affinity account at any branch or agency of the Furness and receive a competitive rate of interest whilst knowing they're also helping the Foundation. Furness Building Society calculates the average total balance for the year on the account and pays 1% as a donation to this worthy cause.

Rob Cairns, Chief Executive of Furness Building Society commented, "our affinity accounts definitely create a win, win, win situation. A customer wins by earning interest, Rosemere Cancer Foundation wins by receiving a valuable amount via the Society and the Furness wins by knowing it is helping a really great cause".

"Furness Building Society is committed to its Community and affinity accounts are a great way to support such worthwhile activities" he added.

Sue Thompson, Chief Officer of the Rosemere Cancer Foundation commented "I am delighted that the proceeds from Rosemere's affinity account with the Furness Building Society has almost doubled over the last twelve months, despite the current financial climate. £13,100 will enable us to provide counselling and quiet rooms for the benefit of patients and relatives on the new Upper Gastro-Intestinal Unit here in the Rosemere Cancer Centre which will provide a specialist surgical facility for hundreds of people from across Lancashire and South Cumbria each year."
