Furness fun in the rain!

The ‘mixed ability’ team from Furness Building Society took place in the recent Barrow Community Trust one mile fun run round the testing course of Barrow Park. The five person team set off at a cracking pace but were shortly dispersed by the Olympic standard 6 and 7 year old children. However, of the athletic Furness pack, Steven Bullock headed home first, followed by Judith Wren and Barry Fitzsimmons in a dead heat (age before beauty) the stalwarts supporting behind were Lesley Paper (an interloper from Newcastle Building Society) and Rob Cairns, Chief Executive, who pleaded that a recent illness had set back his training plans.
A good if somewhat damp morning was had by all and the Society is hoping to raise a good level in sponsorship from the team effort.
