Christmas Coffee Morning for Charity

Caring and enterprising staff at the Duke Street branch of Furness Building Society recently held a very successful Christmas Coffee morning in support of two deserving causes; Epilepsy Bereaved and Barrow & District Disability Association. The branch team took action after they received a request from a bereaved Grandparent who drew the staff’s attention to lack of awareness of the impact epilepsy can have on families.

The branch staff sprang into action, using their skills and experience they have gained from previous coffee morning events.

As well as the normal cups of tea and coffee there were festive mince pies to provide a season treat for customers and visitors to the branch. The team also organised a tombola, a children’s bran tub full of goodies, guess the weight of the cake and a guess the snowman’s birthday competition.

All the Furness staff efforts paid off as they raised a magnificent £255 for two very worthwhile causes.
