Furness Building Society Supports Dalton Cons Bowling Club

Rob Cairns, Chief Executive of Furness Building Society was pleased to present Mike Keen, Secretary-Treasurer of Dalton Cons Bowling Club with a cheque for £100. Mike thanked Furness Building Society for their generous donation. The money has been used to sponsor a Senior Citizen (over 60) bowling competition that took place on 12 June 2009 at Dalton Cons. The winners of the competition were husband and wife team Billy and Maureen Higginson. Husband and wife team Mike and Linda Keen were runners up. This is a new competition for the 2009 bowling season called 'The Furness Building Society Over 60s Mixed Pairs'.

Mike commented that 'We are an independently run bowling club with just over a 100 members and offer recreational and competitive bowling facilities to members and any prospective new members who are always welcome to join our club. We are very grateful to Furness Building Society for sponsoring our competition which was well supported and turned out to be a very good day'.
