At the recent Bolton v Everton premiership match Bolton Wanderers were delighted to receive Furness Building Society's donation from the 'Wanderers' affinity account. The Barrow based Society has a branch in Bolton and teamed up with the Premiership Club in 2006. Supporters of 'Wanderers' whether in Bolton or any of the Society's branch areas, can open an account to support the Club. When supporters open an affinity account with Furness Building Society they get a great savings rate. In addition, Bolton Wanderers benefit as they receive a donation equivalent to average of 1% of the total balances held in the account throughout the year.
Rob Cairns, Chief Executive of Furness Building Society and an avid Everton supporter, said 'The Furness is proud to be the provider of the Bolton Wanderers account, the funds raised go to the academy which supports the stars of the future. We are working closely with the Club and our local branch to bring the account to even more supporters.'
Gareth Moores, Bolton Wanderers' Commercial Director, was pleased to accept the cheque at half time, confirming that the donation would be well used in the Academy.
