Furness Announces Branch of the Year

Following a successful 2008, the Ulverston branch of Furness Building Society has been successful in retaining the Branch of the Year trophy. Indeed, this is the 3rd year running that the team at the branch on New Market Street has been successful.

The trophy is awarded for the branch that is the most successful in generating mortgages, retail savings, insurance business and converted leads for the Society owned Furness Independent Financial Advisers Ltd.

Mary Phipps-Jones, the branch manager, commented "I am absolutely delighted that the Ulverston Branch has won the Branch of the Year trophy for the third successive year. I have a great team at the Ulverston office which is very enthusiastic and motivated. Everyone has worked extremely hard throughout a very difficult year towards achieving the hat trick and I am very proud of them all".

"We are now all looking forward to building on this success over the coming year. You never know we may make if four in a row!!" she added.

The trophy was presented to Mary and her team by Avril Willis, Society Chairman and Rob Cairns, Chief Executive. Rob said, "This is a prestigious award in the Society calendar and well done to Ulverston. Meanwhile I appreciate the dedication and hard work of all our branch staff throughout the North West".
