About us

The Challenge is on

The Rugby League Challenge Cup came to Barrow today - but only for a visit.

The Cup travelled around Barrow on Tuesday and Furness Building Society was lucky enough to catch up with it and some of the players ahead of Sunday's clash with Wigan Warriors, at the Raiders rugby shop in Scott Street.

Through its affinity scheme with the Craven Park club, Furness Building Society was able to hand over £11,089.77 for 2008 as a result of the Raiders Premier Savings Account.

Rob Cairns, Chief Executive of Furness Building Society has a challenge of his own this year .."I would love for us to reach £15,000 for 2009 and the supporters can help us to do that. Open a Raiders account with the Furness and whilst you earn interest on your savings you could help to increase the amount the club will receive from us"

Des Johnston, Chairman of Barrow Raiders was also keen to see the amount increased for 2009 adding "The support we receive from the Furness and the Raiders Premier Savings Account is a great source of funds for the club."
